Library Demolition
Vista Environmental Consulting (Vista) performed hazardous materials consulting services as part of a Crafton Hills College modernization project for the San Bernardino Community College District. Vista’s services consisted of asbestos and lead based paint survey update testing and reports, project management, daily abatement monitoring during abatement and demolition activities. The library was located in the main quad of the campus with a huge amount of foot traffic from hundreds of students and faculty in and around the enclosed abatement areas. Abatement and daily monitoring activities were performed in and around the 25,000 square foot multi-story building.
All air monitoring results were posted daily to ensure no exposure or potential exposure was prevalent. No visible emissions or complaints were filed throughout the year long multi-phase project. Vista assisted the college with the pre-bid job walk, bid review assistance and recommendations. We reviewed all submittals from the awarded contractor and conducted visual inspections and post-abatement clearance sampling following asbestos and lead-based paint abatement and removal activities. A final certification report was issued for the Library Abatement and Demolition Project.
